(13010) Germantitov Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 29 August 1986 by L. V. Zhuravleva at Nauchnyj.
Pilot-cosmonaut German Stepanovich Titov (1935-2000) accomplished the first lasting cosmic flight on 1961 Aug. 6-7. The orbital spaceship “Vostok-2” with Titov on board circled the earth 17 times. He was the backup pilot to Yurij Gagarin. He wrote a number of books on cosmology.Naming citation (20050919/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
