(800457) Floriangoebel Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 27 March 2014 by EURONEAR at Roque de los Muchachos.

Florian Goebel (1972–2008) was a German researcher in high-energy astronomy. He was the driving force behind the construction of the second MAGIC telescope in La Palma. An unfortunate accident took Florian's life while he was working at the MAGIC site, but his inspiration will follow every new generation of physicists in the MAGIC collaboration.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 5, #23, 12), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
