(16690) Fabritius Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 28 October 1994 by Spacewatch at Kitt Peak.
Carel Fabritius (1622–1654) was a Dutch painter and one of Rembrandt's most gifted pupils. His early work resembled that of his teacher but later he developed his own artistic style, known for his light-colored textured backgrounds as in, for example The Goldfinch. Name suggested by W. A. Fröger.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 3, #12, 13), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
