(11728) Einer Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 1 May 1998 by NEAT at Haleakala.

Palomar Observatory technician Steve Einer (b. 1955) worked extremely hard removing old and installing new wiring during the upgrade of the 1.2-m Oschin telescope. He completely rewired the rotating portion of the dome. He consistently went above and beyond the call of duty. The name was suggested by R. Thicksten.Naming citation (20010804/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
