(11665) Dirichlet Outer Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 14 April 1997 by P. G. Comba at Prescott.

Peter Gustav Lejeune Dirichlet (1805-1859) was the successor of Gauss and the predecessor of Riemann at Göttingen. He made important contributions in both pure and applied mathematics and gave the first rigorous proof of the convergence of Fourier series.Naming citation (19991123/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
