Discovered on 28 November 1999 by S. Sposetti at Gnosca.

Henri Cosquer (b. 1950) is a professional diver who in 1985 discovered the cave now named for him near Marseilles. On the walls of the cave are ancient paintings dating back 27~000 and 19~000 years.
