(20250) Burdanov Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 1 March 1998 by E. W. Elst at La Silla.
Artem Burdanov (b. 1988) is a native of Russia working as a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. By employing synthetic tracking techniques to both ground-based and JWST data, he investigates the size-frequency distribution of small asteroids, all the way down to decameter sizes detectable in JWST images.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 6, #11, 11), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
Where Burdanov is today
Seen from above the solar system on 2026-10-14: Burdanov is 2.43 au from the Sun and 2.08 au from Earth. Computed from JPL's orbital elements.
