(9974) Brody Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 19 July 1993 by E. W. Elst at La Silla.

In his portrayal of Wladyslaw Szpilman, Adrien Brody (b. 1973) showed his talent in Roman Polanski's magnificent movie The Pianist (2002), about survival in the Warsaw ghetto. Brody's attitude toward recent events proves that “La musique adoucit les moeurs”.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 5, #10, 4), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
