(29137) Alanboss Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 18 October 1987 by Shoemaker, C. S., Shoemaker, E. M. at Palomar.

An astrophysical theorist at the Carnegie Institution of Washington, Alan Boss (b. 1951) is interested in star and planet formation. He demonstrated that binary star formation can be a common outcome of the fragmentation that accompanies the collapse of an interstellar molecular cloud.Naming citation (20030501/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
