(17806) Adolfborn Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 31 March 1998 by P. Pravec at Ondrejov.

Czech painter and illustrator Adolf Born (b. 1930) is known for his murkily-tinted pictures of bizarre fauna, Victorian gentlemen in top hats and topcoats and mysterious ladies with tall hairdos and plunging necklines. His slightly surrealistic work, with its strong undertone of humor, is loved by both children and adults.Naming citation (20010109/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
